Services have been set for Rex Golobic, a past president of the Bowling Proprietors’ Association of America and a legendary bowling center owner in the San Francisco Bay Area.
Services will be on held on Jan. 25 beginning at 10:30 a.m. at Snider & Sullivan, 977 South El Camino Real, in San Mateo, Calif. A reception will follow at the Elks Lodge, 229 West 20th Ave., also in San Mateo.
Golobic-operated centers were known for their deep involvement with the local community. Among many other initiatives, one center hosted an annual bowling event that brought youth together with local law enforcement officers. The Golobic family opened its first bowling center in 1937.
Golobic is survived by his wife, Reiko.
