With a field of PBA Tour champions including USBC Masters and Barbasol PBA Tournament of Champions winner Jason Belmonte, PBA Players Champion Parker Bohn III and Mark Roth/Marshall Holman PBA Doubles Champions Norm Duke and Wes Malott already entered, the PBA Xtra Frame Maine Shootout March 29-31 at Bayside Bowl in Portland has a few more spots available to PBA members on a first-come basis.
The entry fee for the tournament, which will be covered exclusively from start to finish on PBA’s Xtra Frame online bowling channel, is $500 with a 1:2 cashing ratio. The tournament offers a $10,000 first prize, a last-to-cash payout of $1,000 for players who win one match and a PBA Tour title will be awarded to the winner.
The format consists of best-of-three-game, single-elimination match play rounds from start to finish, beginning on Monday, March 30, with four Round of 64 squads, followed by two Round of 32 squads Monday evening for the winners. The 16 Round of 32 winners will advance to Tuesday’s final rounds.
On Tuesday, two Round of 16 rounds will narrow the field to the top eight for the quarterfinal round, followed by the semifinal and championship rounds Tuesday evening.
