PBA Tour Adds Tokyo Stop Featuring $83K Top Prize

World Bowling and the PBA have announced the addition of a lucrative new PBA International-World Bowling Tour tournament, the Round 1 World Open, which will be held July 9-12 in a multi-center environment in Tokyo, Japan. First prize will be an estimated US$83,000.

Competition will be held at the Minamisuma Bowling Arena in the Shinagawa Prince Hotel and the Makuhari Messe will have a temporary lane construction to house the main portion of the tournament. The tournament will be open to men and women.

While details have not yet been announced, including entry policies, the tournament will include singles competition and a unique mixed doubles competition featuring teams of players from Eurasia, Africa, the Americas and Japan in exhibition matches.
