Borrowing from the long-gone days of “double features” at your friendly neighborhood movie theater, the PBA is unveiling two episodes in its new “PBA Modern Classics” section on YouTube’s PBABowling channel on Friday.
In addition to the previously-announced release of the 2010 PBA One A Day Dick Weber Open finals from Fountain Bowl, an event featuring well-known sports personality Bill Simmons as a commentator along with Rob Stone and Randy Pedersen during Mike Fagan’s first PBA Tour title performance, the PBA also will release the first Chris Paul PBA Celebrity Invitational telecast from 2008 in Winston-Salem, N.C.
While Cleveland Cavaliers superstar LeBron James and friends chase the National Basketball Association title, the 2008 Chris Paul celebrity event will show fans LeBron’s bowling skills. James and PBA Hall of Fame partner Jason Couch defeated CP3 and his partner, Chris Barnes, in the title match of the inaugural event. In addition to Paul and James, other NBA stars who appeared in the inaugural event were Dwyane Wade, Kevin Durant and Rudy Gay.
