The penultimate squad, full to the brim, had the 28 players trying their hardest to either improve their positions above the cut or to

get into the qualifying bunch before it is far too late.

Germany's Patricia Luoto, now married to Mika Luoto and living in Finland  settled the issue by leading the squad with a creditable 1341 and brave attempts came from runners-up husband and wide Francois and Isabelle Sacco, 1324 and 1270 respectively, but with one more squad to roll nothing is cast in stone.

Variations on a theme as to the opinions of the lane condition, depending on just who you talk to. Some say the lanes are tight, others that they are on the dry side.

"I'm v ery happy and so pleased that \I bowled so good. I thought yesterday that I could bowl better today, so I'm v ery positive. For me, the lanes seemed a bit drier today. I had a little bit more space and I bowled better.

"I'm not a Finn, I'll always be German," stressed Luoto. "Of course, I love Finland and I'm half Finn, so I still bowl, I love it. I'm glad to be back in business because I had a bad injury at the Ballmaster in Helsinki in January and I thought I would not be able to compete here, but I'm back."

Now the final qualifyig squad take to the lanes and someone is going to get a free pass into the final, passing 'GO' to collect at least €400.
