After announcing its intention to cut spending at the recent USBC Board meetings in Arlington, Texas, the USBC trimmed what sources say were 13 employees.
“We did have some layoffs,” confirmed USBC Executive Director Stu Upson. “But it was a very small percentage, standard procedure with any business. We’re in the process of getting realigned and looking at reallocating some spending where it will do the most good.”
Among those let go were Steve Kloempken of the testing and research staff, and veteran communications staffer Mark Miller.
“Neil Stremmel will be taking over some of Kloempken’s responsibility in the Testing Lab,” Upson said.
