The Bowl for the Cure® Fabulous Four essay contest once again will send four women on the ultimate bowling experience, culminating on the lanes at the 2015 United States Bowling Congress Women’s Championships in Reno, Nevada.
Bowl for the Cure, a year-round fundraising initiative sponsored by USBC in partnership with Susan G. Komen®, held its first Fabulous Four essay contest last year to raise awareness about breast cancer.
The Fabulous Four essay contest is open to women who have been impacted by breast cancer and/or have been involved in supporting the fight against breast cancer. To enter, go to BOWL.com/FabulousFour and submit an essay.
Essay submissions will close Feb. 12, during Bowl for the Cure month, and the essays will go to a special selection panel. The panel will include last year’s Fabulous Four winners along with Susan G. Komen® and USBC staff.
This year, two of the Fabulous Four selections will be based on the essay writer’s personal experience with breast cancer, and two selections will be for meritorious service in the fight against breast cancer.
The Fabulous Four winners will receive a five-day trip starting in the Dallas/Fort Worth area with a tour of Komen headquarters and a special celebration dinner.
The second day of the journey will take place at the International Bowling Campus in Arlington. The foursome will tour the International Bowling Museum and Hall of Fame and then go to the International Training and Research Center where they will be fitted with a new bowling ball before receiving a lesson from the Team USA coaching staff.
The trip will continue with a flight to Reno, where the Fabulous Four will be honored at the 2015 USBC Women’s Championships and then compete in the event as a team. They also will have the opportunity to bowl doubles and singles at the tournament to complete the journey.
Go to BOWL.com/FabulousFour for complete details and to enter the contest.
