Bus Carrying Indiana Tech Bowling Team to Sectionals Crashes

A Trailway Excursions tour bus carrying the Indiana Tech men's and women's bowling teams overturned on the southbound side of I-65 in southern Indiana this morning.

The school, based in Fort Wayne, Ind., confirmed the bus was carrying the teams to the United States Bowling Congress Sectionals in Smyrna, Tenn. In all, the school said 21 people -- including players and coaches as well as the bus driver  -- were aboard the bus. WTTV reported that "Indiana Tech officials were en route to the area to help provide support for students and their families."

According to WTHR, "Clark Memorial Hospital is treating at least five of the injured. A University of Louisville spokesperson says the hospital has 12 patients from the bus accident. Two patients are considered in serious (non-life-threatening) condition and the rest are in fair condition. The patient ages are 19-76 years old."

Indiana Tech later confirmed that there were no fatalities related to the crash.
