Brunswick has announced that it has entered an agreement with the United States Bowling Congress to become the exclusive lane equipment provider for USBC's Open and Women's Championships beginning in 2015. The agreement, described in Brunswick's release as "the longest contract in USBC Championships history," extends through 2024.
The equipment Brunswick Bowling Products will provide includes its GS-X Pinsetter and Pro-Lane synthetic lanes and ball returns as well as its "Sync scoring and management system." Remarks on the deal by Brent Perrier, Brunswick Bowling Products president, indicate the executive sees the agreement as evidence that Brunswick Bowling Products remains a stalwart supporter of the industry despite the Brunswick Corporation's July 17 announcement of its intent to sell that part of its business.
"Our commitment to the sport of bowling and to the industry itself remains steadfast," Perrier said. "We value the trust of the USBC as evidenced in this agreement."
