A piece of breaking news posted moments ago on the Facebook page for the Striking Against Breast Cancer Mixed Doubles tournament announced that the 2015 tournament will count for a national PBA title. Winners previously were awarded a regional PBA title as long as they were PBA members. Here is the full text of the Facebook post:

"We are excited to announce Donna Conners and PBA Commissioner Tom Clark have come to an agreement to make the 2015 Striking Against Breast Cancer Mixed Doubles tournament a National Event. PBA members winning next year's tournament will be credited with a National PBA Tour title.Donna Conners remains tournament director and maintains full control of the tournament. The tournament is still an open event to all players. Entries will be taken on a serve come, first serve basis, as always. We believe this partnership has taken the Striking Against Mixed Doubles tournament to yet another level. More attractive to the bowlers, more attractive to the sponsors, and most of all attractive to those that benefit from our event."
