SAFRA MOUNT FABER BOWLING CENTER, SINGAPORE
                                                                  DECEMBER 5 - 12, 2004

LADIES' FINALS:

A sign that the TV pair of lanes at the SAFRA Mount Faber center, 27-28, would be very kind to the quarter finalists came very early when Ann-Maree Putney of Australia opened up with a 279 against Puerto Rico's Yoselin Leon. A hiccup in the second game, a lowly 160 gave Leon's 238 the lever to force a third a final decider and Puerto Rico bagged the first semi final place, 205-200.

On stage came Sweden's Helen Johnsson against Filipina Liza Del Rosario. Johnsson never got into her stride, put out of contention over two straight games, 278-203 and 232-189.

Leon's semi final opponent was decided when 2002 ladies' champion Shannon Pluhowsky rapidly disposed of Laura Rhoney of Scotland, 223 - 204 and 231 - 163.

Then the defending champion, Kerrie Ryan-Ciach of Canada had close calls but managed to shut out a very determined Shalin Zulkifli from Malaysia, 201 - 197 and 235 - 225. Ryan-Ciach will be up against Leon of Puerto Rico in her bid to make it a Canadian double.
