MEN'S STANDINGS AFTER 32 GAMES:
Top 8 advance to Quarter Finals:
Jason Belmonte of Australia eased into
the top seed position for the quarter
finals, maintaining his well-earned place at
the top of the leader board after each and
every squad throughout the tournament. It is
difficult to remember a more dominant player
through the qulaifying rounds.
Belmonte will now be matched against Kai
Virtanen in the televised quarter final. The
rest of the matches will be 2 v 7, 3 v 6 and 4 v
5, this round being played on Saturday. The
winners advancing to the semi-finals and finals
will feature on Sunday, the final day of
competition.
Two more perfect games were bowled during
this Top 24 session, the 300s coming from Yahav
Rabin of Israel and Switzerland's Mathieu Berges.
This brings the overall total of perfect games
to seven, two more than the record set in
Lisbon, Portugal in 2000.
