FIRST HONORS TO DENMARK
One
squad finished and 14 to go as the 2005
Olympia tournament gets into gear and picks up
speed, on course for yet another successful
Super Series event, the first of the 2005-2006
season.
And the man setting the pace is Jesper Nielsen
of Rodovre, near Copenhagen (pictured),
operator of the pro shop at the world famous
World Cup Hallen just outside the Danish
capital, hosts to the AMF World Cup twice.
Nielsen, 23 today and 24 on Tuesday, said: "
The lanes were great for me and I got good
carry while some of the other players didn't
do so well." The 2001 European Championship
silver medallist had a high game of 262,
including seven strikes in a row to top the
leader board on 1318.
As a successful tournament and league
player, Nielsen was installed as a staff
member for Roto-Grip.
Defending champion Mathias Arup of Sweden
hasn't got off to a good start this year,
currently in 42nd place.
