Mike Quarry (left) sought to dig a big hole
in the pin deck and put all the pins in the
pit with his twelfth ball for the sixth
perfect game of the tournament. But nay,
dame fortune was out to lunch and a stubborn
7-pin robbed him of the satisfaction.
One good move from the high game was that it
moved Quarry from 20th place to 11th and if he
holds that position he will qualify the next
round.
Anders Ohman still rules the roost, bowling
consistent scores, but he has Zara Glover on his
tail.
Now the inaugural Oltremare Naples
Championship moves into it final stages. The top
12 players now bowl a further six games and the
cut will come for the top four for the one-game
stepladder final. If the top seed loses the
first match of the final the match will go to
two games.
