CARLSSON REMAINS SUPREME
A tie for eighth pace saw German champion Martina Beckel slip into the Round
Robin, ousting Brenda de Bruine of the Netherlands. The German got through on
the highest last game rule, 205-192.
 Once
again, Christel Carlsson of Sweden is top of the pile. "I haven't played so well
today," she said. "I hope I will play better in the Round Robin. I've been using
a line around the second arrow almost all through the tournament and I don't see
any reason to change now," she added. "Of the rest of the field, I most fear the
challenge from fellow countrywoman Nina Flack, she's bowling really well right
now." Flack shot the high game of the squad, a 244.
Once again, the top three players are Swedish and they have dominated this
event, year after year.
We're now down to five nations to contest the grueling Round Robin, but with
three Swedes at the top of the table, they have to be the favorites for the
title.
