13 IS A LUCKY NUMBER
Defying any underlying superstitions, an eclectic army of just under 300 bowlers
from 21 nations descended upon the idyllic Mediterranean island of Malta to
contest the 13th Malta Open, June 16-20.
The largest regiment, some 70-strong, came from England,
but groups also represent countries as far apart as Mexico and Australia.
The event got underway with a short opening ceremony on
Wednesday morning with tournament host Eden Leisure Group’s Executive Director
Kevin De Cesare and Eden SuperBowl General Manager Neil Dent wishing the
competitors an enjoyable and successful tournament.
