LADIES - TOP 36 - FOUR GAMES:
Pinfall carried forward from qualifying round.
It's always tough at the top and that was
certainly demonstrated over the four games of
the women's second round on the Eden SuperBowl
lanes tonight.
Top
qualifier Rebecka Larsen of Sweden suffered
with four sub-200 games and dropped down to
ninth place whilst local champ Sue Abela took
over the running, hitting four games over 200.
But coming down the home straight it was
Kirsten Penny of Stevenage, England (pictured)
who took over pole position and leads the top
18 qualifiers into round three on Sunday
morning.
Just eight nations are left within the 18
qualifiers who will bowl a further four games
in an endeavour to make the round robin and on
to the four-person stepladder finale.
Priscilla Maaswinkel of the Netherlands holds
up the group in the cut position on 2011 over
the ten games to date. She will have to
improve drastically to make the octet to
progress through Sunday.
