Eden Superbowl, St.
George's Bay, St. Julians, MALTA
June 15-19, 2005
Once again, tournament bowlers are flocking
to the idyllic Mediterranean island of Malta
for one of the favorite European ranking
tournaments of the year, the 14th edition of
the Eden Leisure Malta Open, hosted by the
Eden Superbowl in St George's Bay, St
Julians, the entertainment capital of the
island.Even though the 2005 ETBF European
Men's Championships are clashing with the
Malta Open this year, the entry is still
high with just a few open spots on the
opening day, Wednesday June 15. Unless there
are a few cancellations, all the rest of the
squads are fully booked with just under 250
competitors from 21 nations, perhaps the
highest number of countries at an ETBF
ranking event this year.
The
dynamic trio of SuperBowl general manager
Neil Dent (pictured, right), ably assisted
by Mike Gatt and the charming Charmaine look
forward to greeting friends, old and new,
and for the first time in the well-loved
history of this event the lanes will be
conditioned with a brand-new Kegel machine
operated by none other than John Janawicz of
Kegel (pictured, left), the guy who set so
many records at the ABC Championships last
year.
Bowlers Journal's European editor, Keith
Hale, will be reporting live from Malta from
the beginning of the event.
