THE FORCE IS WITH US

Once again, the time has come for one of the most enjoyable tournaments on the European calendar, the Malta Senior Open.

Hundreds of keen bowlers of all standings are heading south to the enjoyable and hospitable Mediterranean island of Malta and its entertainment capital St Julian's, the home of the Eden Superbowl, the home of the superb event.

Competition runs from the lucky 13th of October through to the 17th, the champions crowned on that final evening at the victory party.

Last year, the ladies' trophy stayed at home, won in a superb final by Doris Camilleri, beating Elizabeth Pond of England, 289 - 226. The men's laurels went to Sweden, the nation with the largest contingent of players, with Lars Strandbergs 277 defeating defending champion Roger Pieters of Belgium's 234.

If you can't join us for the friendliest competition in the whole exciting world of bowling, watch this space!

Eden Superbowl GM Neil Dent and his talented crew will once again spring the rabbit from the hat to produce a fantastic event and BJI's European editor, Keith Hale, will be on hand to bring you the highlights, standings, comments and pictures.
