 "I need a new finger," said Tanya Petty
of Germany at the end of the third round of
the finals and twelve games down the pike.
Nursing a sore hand, she added: "I'm very
surprised to be top of the leader board
after such a bad last game. I did change
bowling balls for this squad and moved out
my line to around the fifth board and that
worked well for me, except in the last game
where my hand was hurting badly."
Petty, at the number one spot, and Finland's
Piritta Kantola at number eight, the last
qualifying position for the next round, are
the only two remaining women in the finals.
Now it is a battle of five Germans, two
Finns and an Israeli to battle out two more
games for places in the semifinals.
