TOURNAMENT FORMAT
The tournament will include one division combined for ladies and men. There will be a handicap of 8 pins
for ladies in all games played till and including the last
final games.

Qualification: There will be 6 games of qualification
(the primary entry and re-entries). Every two games,
lane change of 6 lanes to the right. Lane maintenance
after each squad. Each player will be allowed to play
one primary entry and to re-enter the tournament as
often as spaces are available. Squads will close for all
entries 30 minutes prior starting time for the official
lanes draw. Waiting list will only contain players present
in the centre same day. For the qualification standing
only the highest result of each player is counting.
After the last squad there will be a desperado squad
of one game, for those players not already qualified
for the final of the top 48 field after all qualification
squads. The top 48 ranked after all qualifying squads
will qualify for the final together with the top 6 of the
desperado squad, in total 54 players.

Final step 1:
The top 54 players for the 1st step in the final will play
6 games starting from scratch. The top 32 ranked after
the 1st step in the final will qualify for the 2nd step in
the final. Before the 2nd final step the 32 players are
seeded according to their ranking after the 1st final
step.

Final step 2-4:
The final step 2-4 will consist of 3 rounds of knock out
matches; played as best of 3 games matches. All
matches in the final step 2 will be combined as the
highest seeded player vs. the lowest seeded player,
the second highest seeded player vs. the second lowest seeded player etc. The format will be announced on
the bulletin board.

Step 2:
Sixteen matches, the losers of the matches will be
ranked 17-32 according to their seeding before the 2nd
final step.

Step 3:
Eight matches, the losers of the matches will be ranked
9-16 according to their seeding before the 2nd final
step.

Step 4:
Four matches, the losers of the matches will be ranked
5-8 according to their seeding before the 2nd final
step.
The 4 remaining players will be ranked for the 5th final
step according to their position after the 2nd final step.

Final step 5:

Stepladder final in three 1 game matches (ranked 4
vs. ranked 3, then the winner vs. ranked 2 and then
the winner vs. ranked 1).


GENERAL TOURNAMENT RULES
• The tournament will be conducted in Strike Bowling
Club, Thessaloniki in the period 05. -13. March 2005.

• The tournament will be conducted according to the
rules of the Hellenic Bowling Federation, the European
Tenpin Bowling Federation and the World Tenpin
Bowling Association Playing Rules.

• The tournament is approved by Hellenic Bowling
Federation, the European Tenpin Bowling Federation
and the World Tenpin Bowling as an international WTBA
Tournament. The tournament is furthermore adopted
in the European Bowling Tour 2005 as the 5th stop
and as an EBT Major.

ENTRY FEE:
The fee for the primary entry is: € 130.-
(for March 5th till the 9th)

The fee for the primary entry is: € 150
(for the 10th till the 12th)

The fee for each re-entry is: € 100
(for the 5th till the 9th)

The fee for each re-entry is: € 120
(for the 10th till the 12th)

The Desperado squad fee: € 50


PRIZE MONEY:

The prize money pool is € 75.400, divided between
the main tournament pool as € 63.200, extra ladies
prizes as € 4.000 and “B” Bowlers (Men with proven
average under 180 and ladies under 175) prizes as
€ 8.200.

• Payout of Women and B-Bowlers will be done
according to their seeding after qualification rounds
(without Desperados).


TIE BREAKING PROCEDURES

In case of a tie in the qualification the highest ranked
will be the player with the highest last game. If a tie
still exist the highest ranked will be the player with the
highest second last game, then the player with the
highest third last game etc.

In case of a tie for the 6th position in the desperado
squad a 9th and 10th frame roll off will be played,
repeated until the tie is broken.

In case of a tie in the 1st final step the highest ranked
will be the player with the highest last game.
If a tie still exist the highest ranked will be the player
with the highest second last game, then the player
with the highest third last game etc.

In case of tie in any game in the final step 2-5 a one
ball roll off on a full set of pins will be played, repeated
until the tie is broken.

EBT RANKING
Since the Brunswick Euro Challenge is an ETBF Major,
the players will be awarded double points for the
European ranking.
Two top 50 ranking standings will be published
including points to be awarded in the European Bowling
Tour – One for ladies and one for men.

The ladies and men will be awarded points in relation
to their final position (as described above under the
items tournament format and tie breaking procedures)
relative to the other players of the same sex.
If something occurs and its no included in the above
mentioned, the Tournament Committee is responsible
to make the decision and this decision will be final
and undisputed.
