Singapore all set for ABF Tour fourth leg

The stage is all set as ABF Tour makes its fourth stop at the National Service Resort & Country Club in Singapore this weekend with the best of Asian bowlers qualifying from the Masters finals of the 37th Singapore International Open at Marina South Victor's Superbowl.
Malaysia leg champion and current leader in the Tour of Champions men's rankings table, Ryan Lalisang of Indonesia will be hoping to extend his lead with good showing in this leg. All the actions will be featured LIVE on September 12 at 18:00 (Hong Kong/Singapore time).
Lalisang, the 24-year-old law student at Atma Jaya University in Jakarta, gave the inaugural ABF Tour, a perfect start when he reeled together 12 consecutive strikes in the men’s final match against UAE’s Sultan Al-Marzouqi, to score the perfect game en-route to capturing his first ABF Tour title. Lalisang also managed a fifth placing in the Philippines leg in June to earn a total of 108 ranking points, taking him to the top of the standings.
Thailand Leg champion, Ahmed Shaheen of Qatar, who also has 108 points, shares top spot with Lalisang, while Malaysia’s Ben Heng is third in the rankings with 91 points. Two other Malaysians, Daniel Lim and Philippines leg champion, Alex Liew are well positioned in fourth and fifth spots with 80 and 75 points respectively.
Meanwhile, Filipina Irene (Garcia) Benitez topped the women’s ranking table with 121 points After finishing third in the Thailand leg and capturing the Philippines leg on home ground in Manila in June. Also equal on 121 points is Singapore’s Alice Tay after a third in the Malaysia leg, fourth in the Thailand leg and 12th placing in the Philippine leg.
Others in the rankings table are currently competing in the 37th Singapore International Open underway at Marina South Victor’s Superbowl and will be hoping to make the Masters’ finals and finishing amongst the top 16 to qualify for the ABF Tour Singapore Leg. The fourth leg is scheduled for the 11th and 12th September and will be featured LIVE on Singapore Starhub at 16:00 Hong Kong/Singapore time.
The ABF Tour comprises six Legs and a Grand Final, the Tournament of Champions. Each Leg is staged over two competition days where the top 16 men and 16 women bowlers from the preceding International Open Masters Event (Open Grade) will compete in a one-game match play knock-out competition for the individual men's and women's titles.
The Tournament of Champions will be staged over four competition days where the top 16 men and 16 women bowlers (based on ABF Tour ranking points), plus two additional wildcard entries from the West Asia region (thus totaling 18 men in the men's division), will qualify to compete over four rounds of competition for the coveted men's and women's ABF Tour Champion titles.
Actions of the ABF Tour - Singapore will be telecast LIVE on local television stations of the six countries where the tour are being held. Please check your local TV listing for detailed schedule. It will also be broadcast later in other parts of Europe, Africa, the Middle East, central Asia, China and Australasia with an estimated audience of around 90 million.
