The third stop of the 2005 Asian Bowling
Federation Tour, the Canon Malaysia leg, rolls off on Saturday, March 26 - 27 at the
Pyramid Megalanes in Kuala Lumpur.
The top 16 Asian men and 16 ladies from
the preceding 28th Malaysian Open have
qualified to contest this leg of the Tour
and number one seeds are the newly-crowned
Open champions, Siti Safiyah Amirah of
Malaysia and Hong Kong's Wu Siu Hong.
It will be a battle of youth for the
number one seeds as Amirah is 14 years of
age and Hong is 20. Hong will face Alex Liew
of Malaysia in the first of the one-game
rounds, whilst Amirah will face defending
champion Wendy Chai.
The program calls for the first and
second rounds to be played on Saturday, then
the semifinals and finals take place on
Sunday. A first prize of US$3,000 awaits the
male champion and $1,500 for the lady. In
addition, and for the first time on the ABF
Tour, a bonus of $1,000 will be paid for the
Canon High Game in both divisions.
