A tale of woe .......... Israel's Dor Shpeizman (pictured), the only guy to shoot 300 in the Istanbul Open this year, qualified in 43rd place, missing the cut by having the lowest game after a tie for that place.
He went on to take first place in the Desperado squad at midnight on Saturday with a 233, but sank back down the standings again after this first stage of the finals, finishing the tournament in 45th place.

The top ten qualifiers from this squad now advance to Stage 2 to play a further four games with qualifiers 19 - 28, all starting from scratch.
