Squad K - Friday, April 27:
Jason 'Belmo' Belmonte retains his pole position through the running of Squad K this morning, as do Or Aviram and Stuart Williams in the runner-up positions, but there is a new frontrunner for the ladies with Emilie Alm of Trelleborg, Sweden (pictured) zooming up to fourth position overall after leading the squad.
Like quite a few of the competitors, Emilie is experiencing the Istanbul Open for the first time. A 19-year-old student, she is also competing in a European Bowling Tour event for the first time, but intends to hit the Tour again later in the year.

Squad L - Friday, 13:00
Sue Abela, Malta's charming tenpin star, topped this squad with 1258, including the eight pins per game bonus awarded to the lovely ladies.
Sue, a finance director on the gorgeous Mediterranean isle, recently won silver medals in each event of the Mediterranean Challenge Cup, hosted by Turkey in Mersin last month.
Jason Belmonte's 1381 has yet to be seriously challenged today, but there are some more big hitters rolling on the final two squads today.

Squad M - Friday 17:00
'Do as I say, and do as I do' can now be the motto of international coach Andrew Frawley of Australia (pictured), currently working in the Emirates and being based in Dubai.  A huge 1441series after goodness knows how many entries sees him leapfrog the previous leaders to take pole position Friday evening.
"I think I've got to know these lanes pretty well after three entries yesterday," joked the tall, 43-year-old Australian. "I watched Osku Palermaa, Paul Moor and Stuart Williams last night as they all bowled well, so made the decision to change the surface of my bowling ball and play a straighter line. "Once a year, or so, you play really well so it's nice to feature among the leaders now and then."
A great effort, too, from Germany's Jens Nickel, taking second spot on 1398. Just last weekend he looked as though he might have to withdraw from the World Tenpin Masters in England because of a left knee problem. He is due for surgery on that soon, which will end his bowling career.
Jason Belmonte must be feeling a little peeved at having a fellow Aussie take his glory, so you can bet he will be back on the lanes in a later squad to fight for what he believes is his rightful place in prime position.

Squad N - Friday 21:00
Moshe Shienman of Israel topped the scores on this squad, then left the center before we could snap his picture. Never mind, we'll grab in the morning.
Moshe's six-game set was pure 200-plus games, the only bowler on this squad to achieve that, and his 1348 slots him into eighth position overall. Second placed Kai Gunther of Germany was 19 pins behid Moshe and third on the squad the ubiquitous Paul Moor of England, the three-time European rankings leader.
The entry total has now reached 173.
