TOURNAMENT FORMAT
Singles, male and female combined in one
division.
Women 8 pins handicap per game played
till and including
the last final game. Lane change after
each game. Left
lane players moves left and right lanes
players move
right. Lane maintenance after each
squad.
Each player will be allowed to play one
primary entry
and to re-enter the tournament as often
as spaces are
available. Maximum one entry and maximum
two re-entries
can be pre-ordered. Maximum 2 pre-orders
can be placed
on Friday-Saturday Squads will close for
all entries 30
minutes prior starting time for the
official lane draw.
Waiting list will only contain players
present in the centre
same day. For the qualification standing
only the highest
result of each player is counting.
Desperado Squad of one game, for those
players who
entered the tournament, but did not
already qualify for
the final of the top 64 field after all
qualification squads.
Qualification:
6 games (entries and re-entries)
Desperado squad:

64 players will

16 players will qualify directly for the
final step 2,
which is players positioned 1-16 in the
qualification standing
48 players will qualify for the final
step 1, which is:
36 Players positioned 17-52 in the
qualification standing
6 Players positioned 1-6 in a separate
standing for the
squads conducted 9-11 March
6 Players positioned 1-6 in the
desperado standing
In cases of players from the separate
9-11 March
standing is positioned in the interval
1-52 in the
qualification standing, the next
positioned player
in the 9-11 March standing will qualify
Final step 1:
48 players will play 6 games starting
from scratch.
Top 16 will qualify for the final step 2
The players not continuing to the final
step 2 will be
ranked 33-64 according to their
positions in the standing
of the final step 1
Seeding for the final step 2-5
Players positioned 1-16 in the
qualification standing
will be seeded 1-16. Players qualified
from the final
step 1 will be seeded 17-32 according to
their positions
in the standing of the final step 1
Matches in the
final step 2-4
All matches will be combined as the
highest seeded
player vs. the lowest seeded player, the
second highest
seeded player vs. the second lowest
seeded player etc.

There will be 16 matches, best of 3
games
The winners of the matches will qualify
for the final step 3
The losers of the matches will be ranked
17-32 according to their seeding
Final step 3
There will be 8 matches, best of 3 games
The winners of the matches will qualify
for the final step 4
The losers of the matches will be ranked
9-16 according to their seeding
Final step 4
There will be 4 matches, best of 3 games
The winners of the matches will qualify
for the final step 5
The losers of the matches will be ranked
5-8 according to their seeding

There will be 3 stepladder matches
Stepladder match 1
The player seeded 4 and the player
seeded 3 will play a one game match
The looser of the match will be ranked 4
in the final tournament standing

The winner of match 1 and the player
seeded 2 will play a one game match
The looser of the match will be ranked 3
in the final tournament standing
Stepladder match 3
The winner of match 2 and the player
seeded 1 will play a one game match

GENERAL TOURNAMENT RULES
• The tournament will be conducted in
Strike Bowling Club,
Thessaloniki in the period 09–18 March
2007
• The tournament will be conducted
according to the rules
of the Hellenic Bowling Federation, the
European Tenpin Bowling
Federation and the World Tenpin Bowling
Association Playing Rules
• The tournament is approved by Hellenic
Bowling Federation,
the European Tenpin Bowling Federation
and the World Tenpin
Bowling as an international WTBA
Tournament. The tournament
is furthermore adopted in the European
Bowling Tour 2007
as the 5th stop and as an EBT Major
ENTRY FEE:
The fee for the primary entry is:
€ 140 (09th till the 14th)
€ 170 (15th till the 17th)
The fee for each re-entry is:
€ 110 (09th till the 14th)
€ 135 (15th till the 17th)
The Desperado squad fee is: € 50
PRIZE
MONEY:
The prize money pool is € 90.000,
divided between the main
tournament pool as € 73.220, extra
ladies prizes as € 4.290
and "B"- Bowlers (Men with proven
average under 180 and ladies
under 175) prizes as € 10.060 and
special prizes € 2.430.
Payout of Women and B-Bowlers will be
done according to the
seeding after qualification rounds
(without Desperados)
TIE BREAKING PROCEDURES
In case of a tie in the qualification
the highest ranked will be
the player with the highest last game.
If a tie still exist the
highest ranked will be the player with
the highest second
last game, then the player with the
highest third last game, etc.
In case of a tie for the 6th position in
the desperado squad
a 9th and 10th frame roll off will be
played, repeated until
the tie is broken.
In case of a tie in the 1st final step
the highest ranked will
be the player with the highest last
game. If a tie still exists,
the highest ranked will be the player
with the highest second
last game, then the player with the
highest third last game etc.
In case of a tie in any game in the
final step 2-5, a 9th and
10th frame roll off will be played. If
the tie still exists,
a single ball each will be played until
the tie is broken.
EBT RANKING
Since the Brunswick Euro Challenge is an
ETB Major, the players
will be awarded double points for the
European ranking. Two top 50
ranking standings will be published
including points to be awarded
in the European Bowling Tour – one for
ladies and one for men.
Players with a non
ETBF membership will not be positioned
in
the 2x top 50 ranking standings.
The ladies and men
will be awarded points in relation to
their
final position (as described above under
the items tournament
format and tie breaking procedures)
relative to the other players
of the same gender. If something occurs
and it's not included in
the above mentioned, the Tournament
Committee is responsible
to make the decision and this decision
will be final and undisputed.
