TALI BOWL, HELSINKI, FINLAND - JANUARY 6
- 14, 2007
CAN LASSE DO IT AGAIN?

Finland's Lasse Lintila
(pictured, center), the defending champion for
the 2007 Brunswick Ballmaster Open, may hope
for an easier win than having to throw a
one-ball shoot-out as in the final last year.
After a 256 tie with fellow Finn
Kai Virtanen, it was a case of just one ball
each, unless there was a further tie. Kai had
the misfortune to score just eight, not enough
as Lasse rolled a strike to clinch his third
Ballmaster title.
WTBA and Finnish Federation
president Heikki Sarso was on hand to make the
presentations and complete the pictured trio.
Tournament host Kimmo Lehtonen,
along with two-handed delivery Jason Belmonte
of Australia were the losing semi-finalists
and are no doubt intending to improve on that
this year.
At the other end of the scale,
Kimmo's bright young son Tatu (pictured,
right) finished in last place last year but
the word on the street is that he has
considerably improved over the past twelve
months and is going for the cut this time.
