WELCOME TO THE ROSE 'N BOWL, SAN
MARINO |
The Rose 'n Bowl in Serravalle, San Marino is situated in one of the most
picturesque locations imaginable, at the
foot of a towering mountain that is
topped by a fairy-tale castle dating
back thousands of years.
The history of the world's smallest
Republic's beginnings is lost in the
mists of time, but it is claimed that it
dates back to 511 AD when legend has it
that the Titans used the mountain to
ascend to the sky to destroy the planet
Jupiter.

Pen
'San Marino' into your internet search
engine and you can while away many an
interesting hour discovering the
highlights and delights of the rich
history of this fascinating nation.
But we're here for the 3rd San Marino
Open, and as mentioned on earlier pages,
this year this prestigious EBT Ranking
Tour event has attracted an extra
hundred competitors, despite moving from
the chilly climes of October to the
searing heat of July.
The impressive Rose n' Bowl would love
to be able to expand from its 18 lanes
to about 30 for this event as the
applications for squad places pour in.
It is hardly known for extra squads to
be arranged for Wednesday and Thursday
on normal tour stops, but these had to
be arranged in San Marino, and both had
waiting lists, too.
Such is the great reputation of the San
Marino Open that after just two previous
runnings it has attracted entries from
as far afield as Malaysia, Hong Kong and
Qatar. The Malaysian national squad
(pictured, left) are here in full force
and carved themselves places at the top
of the leader board from their first
squad.
Two of the proud proprietors o

f
the luxurious Rose 'n Bowl are Adriano Santi
(left) and Giancarlo Pasquinelli, both of
whom go that much further to make each and
every competitor welcome.
The Rose 'n Bowl is just three years of age
right now, but it has the reputation of a
center established for eons.
