Top 8 qualify for Round Robin
Getting into the final stages of the 2007
Malta Senior Open now and just eight remain to contest the round
robin and then the
 four-person
stepladder final on Sunday.
This octet will play the seven-game round robin at 12 noon on
Sunday, alongside the men's division.
And the main news is that we have a new tournament leader. Hennelle
Uotila from Finland (pictured) leads the female octet into the round
robin, taking over pole position from England's Liz Pond.
Joining Hannelle in the next stage of the finals will be Jan Hodge,
England; Brenda Pratt, England; Sonja Carlsson-Ostlund, Sweden; Liz
Pond, England; Farida Pascoal-Blom, Netherlands; Hildegard Kuhn,
Italy and Ewa Krantz, Sweden.
Brenda Pratt, Farida Pascoal-Blom and Hildegard Kuhn are all past
champions and Kuhn is going for the double.
