ENGLAND TOP SQUAD 'F'
Alan Turner, 59, from Barnsley in Northern England (pictured) topped the 'F' Squad as they completed their first six of the  twelve qualifying games at the Eden SuperBowl Thursday evening. The lithe lefthander, well-known for his contributions to the UK's bowling publication Go Tenpin, ('ramblings of a Yorkshire git,' joked Ron Oldfield about his compatriot) averaged 210 to post a six-game series of 1278, two points ahead of Italy's Rosario Bellomonte.

England again in the ladies' division as Jan Hodge (pictured), wife of Keith who won the second Malta Open 13 years ago, came to the fore with her first Senior Open entry with a nice 196 average and a 1177 series.

All competitors have now completed at least six games so now as squads complete their stints the cut to the top 72 men and 36 women for round two will become much clearer.

Order of play now is for Squads C, F, E & D to bowl Friday, then the cut will come at around 23:00. Men in positions 37-72 will open play on Saturday morning with a further four games, followed by those in places 1-36.
