MEN'S DOUBLES (Long
oil pattern):
The noise of cheers on the concourse of the
SF Strike Bowl Sunday morning was more alike
that of screaming
 teenagers
at a pop concert. But who could blame them?
The Thai bowlers were in the lead and the
supporters were determined to drown out any
opposition.
That ploy worked and the home teams walked
off the lanes after the six games on long oil
with the gold and silver medals. Once again, the
Malaysians had to be content with bronze.
The scoring level was a slight improvement
over that hit yesterday with the Singles on
short oil. In fact, two bowlers, both Thai,
managed to hit series exceeding 1300, which is a
sign that the conditions may be easing for the
rest of the week. But we can't count on that.
