TOURNAMENT FORMAT
Singles, male and female
combined in one division.
Women 8 pins handicap/game
played till and including
the final game.
Lane change of six lanes to the
right after two games.
Lane maintenance after each
squad.
Each player will be allowed to
play one primary entry
and to re-enter the tournament
as often as spaces
are available.
Squads will close for all
entries 30 minutes prior
starting
time for the official lane draw.
Waiting list will only
contain players present in the
centre same day. For the
qualification standing only the
highest result of each
player is counting.
Desperado Squad of one game, for
those players who
entered the tournament, but did
not already qualify for
the final of the top 62 field
after all qualification squads.
Qualification:
Six Players from first weekend
(10.-12. March 2006), 56 Players
from Qualification week,
62 Players ranked 1-62, after
total of 6 games, 6 Players
from Desperado round of 1 game,
ranked 63-68. Position
1-8 of 68 players will already
be qualified and ranked for
final step 2
Final step 1:
60 players will play 6 games
starting from scratch.
The top 24 ranked after the
final step 1, plus position 1-8
after qualification round will
qualify for the final step 2
and seeded according order 1-32.
Final step 2-4:
The final step 2-4 will consist
of 3 rounds of knock out
matches; played as best of 3
games matches. All matches
in the final step 2 will be
combined as the highest seeded
player vs. the lowest seeded
player, the second highest
seeded player vs. the second
lowest seeded player etc.
The format will be announced on
the bulletin board.
Step 2:
Sixteen matches, the losers of
the matches will be
ranked 17-32 according to their
seeding before the 2nd
final step
Step 3:
Eight matches, the losers of the
matches will be ranked
9-16 according to their seeding
before the 2nd final
step.
Step 4:
Four matches, the losers of the
matches will be ranked
5-8 according to their seeding
before the 2nd final
step.
The 4 remaining players will be
ranked for the 5th final
step according to their position
after the 2nd final step.
Final step 5:
Stepladder final in three 1 game
matches (ranked 4
vs. ranked 3, then the winner
vs. ranked 2 and then
the winner vs. ranked 1).
GENERAL TOURNAMENT RULES
• The tournament will be
conducted in Strike Bowling
Club, Thessaloniki in the period
10. - 19. March 2006.
• The tournament will be
conducted according to the
rules of the Hellenic Bowling
Federation, the European
Tenpin Bowling Federation and
the World Tenpin
Bowling Association Playing
Rules.
• The tournament is approved by
Hellenic Bowling
Federation, the European Tenpin
Bowling Federation
and the World Tenpin Bowling as
an international WTBA
Tournament. The tournament is
furthermore adopted
in the European Bowling Tour
2006 as the 6th stop
and as an EBT Major.
ENTRY FEE:
The fee for the primary entry
is: € 130
(for the 10th till the 15th)
The fee for the primary entry
is: € 160
(for the 16th till the 18th)
The fee for each re-entry is: €
100
(for the 10th till the 15th)
The fee for each re-entry is: €
125
(for the 16th till the 18th)
The Desperado squad fee: € 50
PRIZE MONEY:
The prize money pool is €
85.000, divided between
the main tournament pool as €
69.400, extra ladies
prizes as € 4.000 and “B”
Bowlers (Men with proven
average under 180 and ladies
under 175) prizes as
€ 9.400.
• Payout of Women and B-Bowlers
will be done
according to their seeding after
qualification rounds
(without Desperados).
TIE BREAKING PROCEDURES
In case of a tie in the
qualification the highest ranked
will be the player with the
highest last game. If a tie
still exist the highest ranked
will be the player with the
highest second last game, then
the player with the
highest third last game etc.
In case of a tie for the 6th
position in the desperado
squad a 9th and 10th frame roll
off will be played,
repeated until the tie is
broken.
In case of a tie in the 1st
final step the highest ranked
will be the player with the
highest last game.
If a tie still exist the highest
ranked will be the player
with the highest second last
game, then the player
with the highest third last game
etc.
In case of a tie in any game in
the final step 2-5,
a 9th and 10th frame roll off
will be played. If the tie
still exists, a single ball each
will be played until the
tie is broken.
EBT RANKING
Since the Brunswick Euro
Challenge is an ETBF Major,
the players will be awarded
double points for the
European ranking.
Two top 50 ranking standings
will be published
including points to be awarded
in the European Bowling
Tour – One for ladies and one
for men.
Players with a non ETBF membership will
not be positioned in the 2x top
50 ranking standings.
The ladies and men will be
awarded points in relation
to their final position (as
described above under the
items tournament format and tie
breaking procedures)
relative to the other players of
the same sex.
If something occurs and is not
included in the above
mentioned, the Tournament
Committee is responsible
to make the decision and this
decision will be final. |
