take over the top place on the leader board from fellow countryman Darren Cundy, shooting 1270 in a strikefest five game set.

The standings now have Williams in prime position, then Cundy and Swede Marcus Berndt in third. Berndt had 928 over his first fout games then finished with a 269 to take over third on 1197.

Although the entries for this event are down this year, just knocking on the door of 100, there have been over 200 entries, so tournament director and Cockatoos Bowl proprietor Dimitros Evripidou is highly pleased with his favorite annual event.

On Sunday morning the top 42 qualifiers do battle through the final stages, the top two luckily having byes through to stage five, the quarterfinal. The nice sum of 3,300 euros awaits the ultimate champion.
