Swiss kegler Larry Ventobel topped the opening weekend scores of the inaugural Brunswick Italia Challenge at the Red & Black Bowling Center in Asti, posting a healthy 1465 for his six-game qualifying round score.
Ventobel also has the distinction of rolling the tournament’s first perfect game, rolling his 300 in the second of his six games.
Three others managed to break the 1400-barrier this early in the tournament which runs until next Sunday, June 26: Luca Baravaglio (1420), Luca Osella (1417) and Marco Boccato (1406). all these three are Italians.
An unusual total of 130 hit the Brunswick lanes over the opening weekend but only seven were visitors from other nations, coming from Switzerland, France, Belgium and Russia.
