Keeping the Danish Standard

There have been several Danish squad winners over the past  squads and that standard was maintained in Squad 13 as young

Anders Lousdal

Anders Lousdal, 18, aN electrician from Middelfart, sealed squad victory and a place in tomorrow’s finals, thanks to a 279 in game four and a 278 in five.

Bowling in the BAI for the third or fourth time, Lousdal is enjoying his best performance. “I used the same balls through the squad but just started bowling better,” he commented. “I’ve been bowling really bad all the week.”

He came to the fore rolling 1419 over his six games, bettering challenger Bo Winther, also from Denmark by 23 pins. Krista Pollanen from Finland took third place and Dane Martin Klitte fourth.

One sore point for Lousdal is that although he was wearing an ebonite shirt and using the company bowling balls, he did not register for the $1,000 bonus and therefore was not awarded the squad prize.

Just one qualifying squad remains, rolling off at 20:00 local time. This is followed by the Desperado, a one game on one lane for those attempting a last ditch attempt to win a place in the finals.
