Jousting for Qualifying Spots

March 13th, 2010  |  Published in Breaking News

Now just two qualifying squads left to bowl and newcomers are still taking their places. Nine new faces joined the 08:00 squad this Saturday morning and had the pleasure of watching two perfect games, the first from Denmark’s Fredrik Ohrgaard and the second by the famed American pro Parker Bohn III.

Parker Bohn also topped the squad with 1,477 and the next five players all rolled scores over 1400.

Come the 12 noon assembly and that saw Mai Ginge Jensen of the talented Danish national team rolling the highest series of the day so far with 1,480. Once again 1400-plus was the norm with the top eight on the squad beating that barrier. The high game went to Priscilla Maaswinkel of the Netherlands, 293 including her eight point-bonus.

The entry total now stands at 450, several short of the 471 entries received. The cut for the top 16 now stands at an amazing 1,459 and 1400 has now to be beaten to get into tomorrow’s finals, bar the six places in the desperado squad, as that cut stands at 1,401. Maybe the highest cut in the history of the European Bowling Tour.
