USBC SPOKESMAN Chris Paul — who also is a basketball player of considerable note — returns to the lanes for the Chris Paul PBA Celebrity Invitational. The event was taped at Naval Air Station New Orleans’ Riverboat Lanes, and airs this Sunday (Feb. 7) beginning at 2 p.m. Eastern on ESPN.

Paul, team captain of the New Orleans Hornets, was the NBA’s Rookie of the Year in 2006. In his off-time, he’s an avid bowler and philanthropist; his CP3 Foundation benefits charitable programs in his home state of Louisiana, post-Hurricane Katrina.

In this year’s Celebrity Invitational, Paul is teamed with Aussie bowling star Jason Belmonte. That personable duo will be joined by…

  • Pete Weber with Christopher Bridges — better known as rapper/actor Ludacris
  • Wes Malott with Super Bowl XL MVP Hines Ward of the Pittsburgh Steelers
  • Norm Duke with Steelers’ linebacker LaMarr Woodley, co-MVP (with Vince Young) of the 2005 Rose Bowl game
